Art in Public Places, City of Austin

City of Austin Art in Public Places program has made it possible for talented artists of local and national renown to enhance public spaces throughout the city with works of art ranging from outdoor sculptures and murals to functional works integrated into architecture. Artists have successfully incorporated traditions, objects, and physical marks of community members to create cultural landmarks that have become cornerstones of community identity.

Austin Fairchild Art Foundation

The Austin Fairchild Art Foundation was founded in 1984 for the purpose of fostering the production, promotion, understanding and appreciation of art. In 2001 we launched the Thanksgiving Image Project, which seeks to encourage the expression of gratitude by providing a visual cue to the universal concept of thanksgiving. Through this project we contribute inspiring and beautiful art prints and cards to non-profit service organizations such as Meals on Wheels, SafePlace and Habitat for Humanity.

Austin Museum Partnership

The Austin Museum Partnership is a consortium of Austin-area museums, organized in 1998 to promote collaborations for the mutual benefit of the public and the museums. The membership includes art and science museums; historic sites and history museums; nature preserves, natural habitats, and botanical gardens; the University of Texas library and art repositories; a Presidential library; a children's museum; a museum about Texas music; and the spectacular Texas State Capitol. And best of all, it's all right here in Austin, Texas!

The Austin Visual Arts Association is a non-profit arts organization composed of working artists and supporters of the arts. Established in 1977 at the suggestion of the Arts Commission, AVAA is one of the oldest visual arts organizations in Austin. Founded by a group of interested artists, museum professionals and gallery owners, our stated purpose is to "encourage the knowledge, appreciation, and practice of contemporary visual art."

Wimberley Valley Art League

The Wimberley Valley Art League was started over fifteen years ago by a small group of Hill Country artists with common goals. It is now comprised of around 100 members. The latter is manifested through shows, art workshops, and hangings in public places such as banks, chamber of commerce, and the library.
